Wooten led Vermont with a.286 average,four homers and 38 RBI beforee being promoted to the Single-A Burlington Bees on August 30th.
When he left Vermont, Wooten was tied for third in the New York-Penn League with 75 hits and also tied for second in games played with 67, having missed just two of Vermont's first 69 games.
A 38th-round pick in the 2012 draft out of East Carolina University, Wooten also led the team in doubles with 16 (tied for eighth-most in Lake Monsters history).
Wooten was announced as the winner of the MVP award prior to the September 4th Lake Monsters game against the Aberdeen Ironbirds. The award was presented to Vermont manager Rock Magnante by Burlingt Free Press Publisher Jim Fogler and a brief clip of Wooten thanking fans for the award was played on the video board.
